phem Man, I love this album. It is very different from my usual taste in music but I keep coming back to it. The strewn in off-key notes on the piano transfer the emotions from the basis EBM versions f*ing well and help with sculpting the very special atmosphere. 'Naked EBM' it is indeed, in the sense that it's methodically stripped down EBM. Favorite track: Hard Times (Naked).

The black city's calling Don't know how to get in My head spinning and stalling I'm staring at the ceiling Looking back at a painful past It's there and you see it Shaken up but it's changing fast You're getting stronger and you feel it Do it! Do it! Stand up while you're living Get it, get it... in your head! The insignificance of time Fall back upon what you know Seems right, but there's something There's knocking on the door below Remember all you've been loving Thinking that you're really great See your face in the mirror Realise that it's all too late Now you see things clearer Do it! Do it! Stand up while you're living Get it, get it... in your head! The insignificance of time

Find the line Seek intentions Your heart is cold Strong belief We need no trust Apprehensive We compromise No relief Carry the cross Delicious burden To analyse Human life Electro brain is taking over We surrender Feelingless Try to stay alive, you know It's your life to stay alive For you remain reluctant to the voice of god who says no-one is to fight the system Tracking slaves I'm number one Soundwaves The damage done To senseless lives And fading masses Of stupid people Who disregard Our love is strong Feel its power Minds attacked And neuralised Discipline No counteraction A computer's dream of hard times Try to stay alive, you know It's your life to stay alive For you remain reluctant to the voice of god who says no-one is to fight the system

Hit me, that's what you do Kick me, you love it too You call me stupid, You call me stupid But you can do better There comes a time, when nothing's left Consumed, my mind is dead I'm no more use to you, no more use to you Like a toy, without regret I'm cold, it's raining on Abandoned, everyone's gone There is a way out, there is a way out No more fear I am stronger than you Time lingers on I woke up, you haven't won You called me stupid, you called me stupid But I can do better Every bruise became a shield Every scar, I'll never yield You're no more use to me, you're no more use to me You were a toy, I have no regret See who's laughing now You're abandoned anyhow There is a way out, there is a way out No more fear I am stronger than you

Looking back at your old story  Thinking about that choice you made  Seemed so sensible a priori  But it changed your life in every way  No more turn back  Break free from heaven, break free from hell  Cut loose the chains and break the spell  Keep your head up  Time to be fearless  Time to be reckless  The darkness of the sky when you remember (you will)  That life wasn't as bright on the other side  But no matter what don't surrender  Future becomes what you decide  Looking ahead  Break free from heaven, break free from hell  Cut loose the chains and break the spell  Keep your head up  Time to be fearless  Time to be reckless Freedom at last Time to be fearless  Not chained to the past Absoluteness

about

I've desired since long to make an acoustic EBM album, featuring piano and unprocessed vocals only of the most popular Pro Patria tracks. Everything was recorded live, unprocessed and pure, and only some reverb was added to give the songs a bit of extra warmth. To be honest, keys abd vocals were recorded separately because I'm incapable of playing and singing at the same time. Nevertheless, most of it was actually improvised on the moment of recording, making this cd truly unique.

about

Pro Patria Canossa, Italy

Belgian origin Pro Patria was founded in 1988 by Peter V. (aka PVC). Out of the collaboration with CCP arose "Quod Erat Demonstrandum" in 1997. Unfortunately, CCP faced bankruptcy and personal trouble meant the end.
In 2017 Peter was invited to play at the Familientreffen festival, which motivated him to produce "Back to Basics". In 2019 Pro Patria released its 3rd full album "Executioner".
